X's and O's Pet Nanny & Naturals

Brand Design, Web Design, and Graphic Design

Project Overview

Christy Fear came in with a vision that was equal parts sweet, nature-loving, and bursting with personality. X's and O's Pet Nanny & Naturals is exactly what the name promises: a whole lot of love, wrapped around trusted pet sitting services and a carefully curated shop of all-natural, organic pet products. Everything Christy sells, she handpicks herself. Everything she does, she does with her whole heart.

She had ideas, she had energy, and she had a lot of elements she wanted incorporated. The job was to bring all of it together into a brand and website that felt cohesive, joyful, and unmistakably hers, plus a working online shop that could hold its own alongside the services side of the business.

The Goal

Christy came in with a clear feeling for what she wanted: lovey, warm, and very much in line with the X's and O's name. She also came in with a list of elements she wanted represented: a girl in a messy bun, dogs, cats, X's and O's, hearts, butterflies, and a nod to the natural products side of the business. The goal was to honor all of that and build a brand that felt complete, intentional, and full of her personality.

The Challenge

Getting all of those elements into a logo without it becoming cluttered or unreadable at small sizes took real care and refinement. A logo has to work at the size of a business card and the size of a billboard, and every element you add makes that harder to pull off. The palette presented its own puzzle too: Christy wanted pastels, which are soft and sweet by nature, and the brand needed depth and richness alongside them to keep everything from feeling washed out. Balancing the airy with the grounded, without losing either, was the work.

The Result

The logo brings every element together in a way that feels natural rather than crowded. A messy bun girl stands at the center, arms out with leaves balanced in her hands, a butterfly on her chest, and a dog and cat settled in her lap looking up toward her. It tells the whole story of the business in a single image. The palette pairs soft, sweet tones (Playful Pink, Precious Peach, Lavender Leash) with deeper, richer complements (Passion Purple, Ruby Rover, Tugging Teal) and grounded greens (Guardian Green, Veggie Snacks) that speak directly to the natural products side. Mellow Mutt rounds it out with warmth and neutrality. All the individual brand elements (the girl, the butterfly, the paw, the leaf) live throughout the site too, just not all at once, which keeps the brand feeling rich and layered without ever tipping into overwhelming.

The Goal

A brand new website with two jobs to do: showcase Christy's pet nanny services and run a functional online shop for her handpicked natural pet products. The site needed to feel warm, joyful, and full of personality, with enough visual energy to match the brand without tipping into chaos.

The Challenge

Two things kept this one interesting. The first was the shop. Ecommerce was new territory for me beyond a listing or two, and building a full working online store (products Christy sources and ships herself, organized across supplements, toys, and supplies) was a genuine learning curve I was excited to take on. The second was the direction to bring more visual energy and personality to the design. Balancing maximalism while still making everything look intentional and polished is always a puzzle, and honestly one of my favorite kinds to solve. The details that come out of that process (like the paw graphic reaching toward a leaf) are some of the ones I'm most proud of.

The booking side also needed a practical solution. Christy's preferred scheduling software didn't integrate cleanly into the site, so rather than force a clunky workflow, we went with a booking form she could manage on her own terms, keeping things simple and functional without sacrificing the experience for her clients.

The Result

A joyful, colorful site that holds both sides of the business with equal confidence. The shop is organized, shoppable, and feels right at home alongside the pet nanny services rather than bolted on as an afterthought. The brand elements are woven throughout (the butterfly, the paw, the leaves, the girl) so the personality never drops off from page to page. And the booking form gives Christy a clean, manageable way to receive requests without fighting her own website to do it.

She completely understood the assignment! I get so many compliments on my website, and it feels amazing knowing this is what represents my company online. Graphic Design

The Goal

Christy needed graphics she could take straight to a printer: branded t-shirts to wear while she walks dogs, and announcement posts to introduce the new brand and website on social media. She also needed a polished Facebook banner to represent the brand on her business profile.

The Challenge

T-shirt graphics have a different set of rules than screen design. They need to hold up on fabric, look great at wearable scale, and be clean enough to send straight to a printer without any extra back and forth. The announcement posts and Facebook banner needed to feel like a celebration of the brand without just being a screenshot of the homepage.

The Result

Print-ready t-shirt graphics Christy could take straight to a printer and wear with pride on her walks. A set of launch announcement posts that introduced X's and O's to the world in a way that felt as warm and exciting as the brand itself. And a Facebook banner that makes sure the first impression on her business profile is just as intentional as everything else.
